For those interested in using insurance for their massage therapy treatments, please bring your benefits card (with the plan and member number) to your first visit to complete a direct billing consent form in person.
*Clients/patients are responsible for paying any expenses that are not covered by the insurance company.*
Please also check the following with your insurance provider/carrier:
1. The coverage limits per fiscal year and per visit.
2. Confirm whether a doctor's prescription is required for submitting massage therapy claims.
In certain situations, direct billing may not be feasible. Therefore, clients may be requested to pay the full treatment cost at the end of the session, subsequently getting an insurance receipt to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.
This can occur when:
The insurance company is not on our list of insurance companies for direct billing.
The insurance company's online portal is temporarily unavailable (technical difficulties).
The insurance company responds with a 'pending' status, indicating an inability to complete the adjudication process.
The claim is submitted on the patient's behalf, and the insurance company issues payment directly to them.
The insurance plan requires manual claim submissions, rather than direct billing.
